The British Motor Show is set to be centre stage once again in the global automotive calendar this year, as it hosts the final of the prestigious 2026/27 New Car World Championships.

Taking place at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre between 21-22 August, The British Motor Show will uniquely bring together the future, present and heritage of motoring, offering visitors an unrivalled experience that spans cutting-edge innovation, world-leading new cars and icons who have helped shaped the industry.

As part of the show’s ongoing partnership with the internationally recognised New Car World Championships (owned and operated by the London/Tokyo-based Best Cars of the Year organisation), several contender cars from across the globe will be displayed in The Showroom in Hall 1 at next month’s show where visitors will be able to explore and compare these up-to-the-minute, world-class models – some of which have rarely, if ever been seen, in the UK.

A distinguished, international panel of official judges that includes automotive designers, engineers, automotive industry titans, TV presenters, journalists and motorsport stars (including one or two former Formula 1 drivers) will soon be formally casting their votes for the 26/27 New Car World Champion.

But show attendees will also have the opportunity to influence the outcome through a simple on-site ‘public vote’ process at www.newcarworldchamps.com, where visitors can submit their vote for the car they believe deserves to be crowned overall winner. Participants are invited to select what they consider to be the best all-new car, regardless of retail price, country of manufacture, production volumes or whether it’s petrol, pure-electric, hybrid or diesel-powered.

With previous champions showcasing breakthrough vehicles across EV, value, performance, light commercial vehicle (LCV) and other categories, the annual awards continue to highlight the pace of innovation in the automotive world.

Mike Rutherford, award-winning journalist, founder of The New Car World Championships and Chair of its international judging panel commented: “It’s a natural fit for us to return to The British Motor Show. This is an event that connects directly with real-world car buyers and enthusiasts, which is exactly what The New Car World Championships is all about.

“Consumers being able to see several of the finalists in one place, and help decide the winner, makes this one of the most exciting chapters yet for the Championships.”

Andy Entwistle, CEO of The British Motor Show, added: “This partnership adds an exciting global dimension to the show. We are proudly showcasing several of the very best new cars in the world, some of them surprisingly affordable. It represents a unique opportunity for our visitors to have their say in what vehicle is crowned The New Car World Champ 26/27.”

The British Motor Show takes place at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre from 21-23 August 2026, bringing together the best of automotive culture, performance, and technology under one roof. The partnership with the annual New Car World Championships reflects the British Motor Show’s continued commitment to showcasing the full breadth of the truly international automotive industry.
